Stage 01

The first injury visit

The first record sets the baseline that everything after it is measured against.

  1. 2008 to 2017

    Onsite Clinic Manager

    Concentra · Large aluminum manufacturer, about 2,200 employees

    • Prepared case files with the insurance carrier and legal counsel: obtained the medical records, organized them into chronologies, and reviewed them for errors, discrepancies, and inconsistencies.
    • Provided clinical insight and medical research to support case preparation for depositions, mediation, and trial.
    • Followed each claim from the first injury visit through work restrictions, modified duty, return to work, and case outcome.
    • Treated and case-managed orthopedic and soft tissue work injuries, with firsthand knowledge of how mechanism of injury, findings, and restrictions are documented at the point of care.
    • Served as the link between injured workers, treating providers, the employer, carriers, and counsel.
    • Ran random and post-accident drug and alcohol testing; led the clinical team and Emergency Response Team.
  2. 1998 to 2000

    Flight Nurse

    • Treated and transported critically ill and injured patients by helicopter under Advanced Life Support protocols. Firsthand knowledge of prehospital trauma care and documentation, a frequent source of evidence in injury cases.
